Edwin Arroyave found solace in his family after estranged wife Teddi Mellencamp confirmed her intentions to file for divorce.
“Church-bound with these beautiful souls,” Arroyave, 47, wrote via Instagram Story on Sunday, November 3, sharing a car selfie with his three children set to Tori Kelly’s “Never Alone.”
Arroyave and Mellencamp, 43, share daughters Slate, 12, and Dove, 4, as well as son Cruz, 10. The Skyline Security founder is also father to eldest daughter Isabella from a previous marriage. Isabella, for her part, did not appear to join her father and siblings on the ride to church services.
Hours earlier, Arroyave suggested that he was dealing with a “dark” time.
“You’re not always going to be motivated or inspired. That’s where rituals and habits come in,” he captioned another Story upload, sharing a pic from a hot yoga session. “Having good habits is what will get you through your dark days. It’s when you’re under pressure that your true character is revealed.”
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum and Arroyave were married for 13 years before formally separating.
“After a great deal of care and consideration, I have made the difficult decision to file for divorce,” Mellencamp wrote via Instagram on Saturday, November 2. “My priority is my children and ensuring that every care is taken with their privacy and wellbeing throughout this new chapter.”
She added, “Making a public statement is not something I wanted to do, but in an effort to protect my family from undue speculation and rumors, I felt being open, honest and vulnerable was the best path forward.”
Arroyave has yet to publicly address the pair’s separation, though recently gushed over Mellencamp’s achievements as an advocate.
“I always say life and pain are inseparable and to see @teddimellencamp embrace her pain and use it for the greater good again last night as she emceed the @curemelanoma gala, was a beautiful reminder of what she is capable of,” he wrote via Instagram on October 25. “Her story has already saved lives. And I couldn’t be prouder that she will continue to save more. Love you, Teds.”
Mellencamp and Arroyave had been candid about navigating ups and downs in their marriage through the years. They even nearly got divorced during her first season of RHOBH. (Teddi, the daughter of John Mellencamp, held a diamond from seasons 8 to 10.)
“When we first started, I remember my first day honestly it was like ‘F—, at what point do I tell everybody that I’m getting a divorce? Like when do I do this?’” Teddi said during a March 2023 episode of her and Tamra Judge’s “Two Ts in a Pod” podcast. “We are at our worst absolute phase, because truthfully, for us, it was really about a power struggle.”
