A former “American Idol” contestant charged with raping a minor creepily fronted a band called Sexual Harassment after he was booted from the reality show — twice.

Randy Madden, 45, started the presciently named group after he failed to gain a single “yes” from the “American Idol” judges in 2008 when he tried to wow them with a performance of Bon Jovi’s “Livin’ on a Prayer,” which Simon Cowell savagely cut off after about 20 seconds.

The Californian was a 27-year-old with tattoos and bandanas and a resume that included cubicle work as a sales rep and no time playing in bands, so Paula Abdul and the other judges encouraged him to cut his teeth onstage if he wanted to make a go as a rocker.

He apparently took that advice to heart and started a band — which he eerily decided to call Sexual Harassment.

The group seemed to specialize in heavy metal-twinged Elvis Presley covers and other hard-jamming tunes, and carried a name that alarmingly evoked the crimes he’d be accused of more than 15 years later.

Madden was arrested by the Ventura County Sheriff on Nov. 3 with unlawful sexual intercourse with a person under 18, and oral copulation, anal and genital penetration by a foreign object, People reported.

His charges also included sending harmful matter and luring and dissuading a witness from reporting a crime.

Madden faces a total of six felony charges, according to TMZ.

The alleged assault happened between July and September of this year, and included at least one alleged sexual encounter.

Madden pleaded not guilty and was released after posting $100,000 bond.

He declined to comment on the charges outside Ventura County Superior Court Thursday, after he asked a judge and was granted permission to delay his next hearing until Jan. 8.

Madden belted out “Livin’ on a Prayer” in his 2008 “American Idol” audition, but was savagely cut off by judge Simon Cowell within 20 seconds.

He appeared to have been working as a hairdresser and photographer since his rock ”n’ roll days, and his Facebook is filled with photos of scantily clad young women posing around California scenery.

Madden also appears to have been involved in a motorcycle accident that’s left him walking with a cane.

It is unclear if he continued to make music, but he tried his hand at stardom again on “Idol” the season after he was first booted — and again failed to make the cut for a second time.

“America’s gonna see me, someone out there’s gonna here my story,” he said after being tearfully rejected.

“Someone’s gonna say ‘This guy rocks.’”
