Regardless of how her Academy Awards category turns out, Teyana Taylor already won on the red carpet at the 2026 Oscars.
The One Battle After Another star, 35, captured everyone’s attention as she posed for photos ahead of the Sunday, March 15, ceremony at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.
Taylor stepped out for the awards show in a black and silver figure-hugging gown featuring a sheer mesh panel at the waist and fringe down the full-length skirt. She paired the dress with a silver accent necklace and small dangly earrings.
Taylor is nominated for her first Oscar this year. She received the Best Actress in a Supporting Role nod for her performance in One Battle After Another. Her fellow nominees in the category are Elle Fanning and Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas for Sentimental Value, Amy Madigan for Weapons and Wunmi Mosaku for Sinners.
With the Academy Awards, Taylor caps off an incredible stretch of unforgettable fashion moments during the 2026 awards season. She notably turned heads in a custom Schiaparelli gown when she won Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role in Any Motion Picture at the Golden Globes in January. The black dress featured strategically placed cutouts along her chest, torso and lower back and a diamond-encrusted thong.
“Wait till you see my party in the back,” she told the audience as she took the stage to accept her award.
Earlier this month at SAG’s Actor Awards, Taylor stunned in a custom Thom Browne gown, which featured neutral swirled designs that resembled body paint. The one-shoulder dress also included a silver sequin skirt and a white satin bow on the back.
Taylor later shared how her look was inspired by the Actor Awards’ red carpet theme of reimagining Hollywood glamour from the 1920s and 1930s.
“SAG doesn’t usually do the theme with the dress code, and I love a theme, so I was really, really excited. The first thing I did was definitely call Thom because I already knew that we could bring this vision to life,” she said in a social media video posted by the brand. “What I dreamed of in my head I knew that only Thom would understand. He’s like this staple for us weird kids that just have big dreams and big imaginations.”
Days before the Oscars, Taylor teased her ensemble for the upcoming ceremony in a Tuesday, March 10, interview with Access Hollywood.
“In Paris was my second fitting. My very first fitting was last week, but it was just like the pattern. We were finding her,” she hinted. “I can’t say who it was with yet, but getting to Paris and seeing that dress, oh, my God. Oh, I was damn near in tears. I was like, ‘Oh, this is crazy.’”
After Taylor’s daughter Rue, 5, joined her on the Actor Awards red carpet, she considered whether her youngest might accompany her again at the Oscars alongside older sister Junie, 10. (The actress shares her two kids with ex-husband Iman Shumpert.)
“Junie done seen it, and she’s like, ‘Oh no, I know I was with my homegirls last time, but I’m coming this time.’ So, now I’ve got to figure it out,” she said. “We gonna all go but maybe not the carpet. I’m not sure yet.”
