Dave Grohl announces he’s become the father of a baby born outside his marriage

Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl has admitted to fathering a baby outside of his 21-year marriage.

The rock musician, 55, revealed the news in an Instagram statement Tuesday, writing that he’s “recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage.”

“I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her. I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness,” he wrote in the post. “We’re grateful for your consideration toward all the children involved, as we move forward together.”

A representative for Grohl declined to share any additional comment with NBC News.

Grohl did not disclose in his post any additional information about the mother of his newest daughter.

The founder of Foo Fighters and former drummer for Nirvana has been married to his second wife, Jordyn Blum, for more than two decades.
