A New York City father allegedly beat his 2-year-old son within an inch of his life at a Queens shelter and went days without getting the tot medical help, according to cops and sources.

Dayvon Morrison, 30, was arrested Tuesday for the horrific assault on his son that has left the young boy fighting for his life, the NYPD said.

The dad is accused of thrashing the tot at a Queens homeless shelter sometime late Friday night and then leaving the shelter and taking the battered child inside a stroller into Manhattan the next morning, sources said.

The boy wasn’t given medical attention until a 911 call came in just after 3 a.m. Monday, according to cops.

Police responded to the call and found Morrison’s son with severe head trauma in East Harlem near 102nd Street and Third Avenue.

EMS rushed the child to the Weill Cornell Medical Center in critical condition, police said.

In a heartbreaking post on Instagram, the boy’s mother said that he is “fighting for his life in the ICU.”

She shared a horrifying photo of the toddler, who lay unconscious in a hospital bed with dozens of stitches and a gauze taped to his head that read “No Bone.”

In a separate update on Facebook, she wrote that doctors don’t think her son will “be able to develop mentally” as a result of the brutal injury.

“I’m trying to pray and hold on lord please help my baby, my baby just started putting his words together and calling me mama mama, baby was perfect, so smart,” she wrote.

Morrison was taken into custody in Queens on Tuesday and charged with two counts of assault, police said.

He appeared stone-faced and refused to answer questions as he was led out of a Queens police precinct Tuesday night.

It’s unclear what Morrison was doing or where he was keeping his gravely wounded son between Saturday and early Monday morning, when a family member made the 911 call.
